Intelius Opt Out: One Form, Four Sites
The Intelius opt out is one free form at the PeopleConnect Suppression Center. It also works as your TruthFinder opt out, Instant Checkmate opt out and US Search opt out.
Key takeaways
- The Intelius opt out is the free PeopleConnect Suppression Center at suppression.peopleconnect.us. One suppression hides your Background Report from name searches on Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate and US Search.
- Suppression is not deletion. Your Background Report is hidden from name searches, but it isn't erased from PeopleConnect's systems.
- Enter your date of birth carefully. PeopleConnect's tool confirms you cannot change it once saved.
- Records under old names can be separate listings. Add every past name and past address so PeopleConnect can find all your records.

The Intelius opt out is one free form. And it also works as your TruthFinder opt out, Instant Checkmate opt out and US Search opt out.
All four sites are run by PeopleConnect and share one tool: the PeopleConnect Suppression Center. Here's how to use it step by step, the one entry you can't change later, what it still doesn't hide, and the "delete" button that doesn't remove your listing.
Quick answer: The Intelius opt out is the free PeopleConnect Suppression Center at suppression.peopleconnect.us. One suppression hides your Background Report from name searches on Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate and US Search. It suppresses, it doesn't delete. Your Background Report is hidden from name searches, but it isn't erased from PeopleConnect's systems. Allow about 48 hours, then search your name on all four sites to confirm it worked.
Every fact below comes from the official PeopleConnect Suppression Center, PeopleConnect's Terms of Use, the Intelius Privacy Center, and verified third-party opt-out guides accessed October 22, 2026. Owen Brooks, his address, phone number, email and relatives shown in the video are fictional.
Watch: Intelius opt out explained
If your Background Report shows up on Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate or US Search, this video walks through the one form that suppresses it from all four, step by step.
What Intelius shows about you
Intelius calls what it shows about you a Background Report. When someone searches your name, Intelius can show:
- Your current address
- Your phone number
- Your past addresses
- Your age
- Your relatives and associates
- Your email
- Criminal and court records
Intelius is one of the oldest background-check companies in the U.S. It sits inside a larger group run by PeopleConnect. The same records feed Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate and US Search, which is why one suppression request reaches all four sites at once.
Our fictional example, Owen Brooks, 42, Seattle, searched his name on Intelius in October 2026 and found his home address, his phone number, his relatives and his age on his Background Report.
How do I opt out of Intelius?
The Intelius opt out runs through PeopleConnect at suppression.peopleconnect.us. When we checked on October 22, 2026, intelius.com/opt-out and truthfinder.com/opt-out both redirected there.
It's free. It should never ask for a payment card or your Social Security number.
Step 1: Go to the PeopleConnect Suppression Center
Go to suppression.peopleconnect.us. PeopleConnect calls it the Suppression Tool. Its official page says it "provides a free way to manage the display of your Background Report when searched by name on all people search sites in the PeopleConnect family including TruthFinder.com, InstantCheckmate.com, Intelius.com and USSearch.com."
Step 2: Verify your email
Enter an email address you can open now, agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and hit Continue. PeopleConnect sends a verification email with a link. Click the link to proceed.
Step 3: Enter your date of birth
Enter your date of birth carefully. According to verified opt-out guides, PeopleConnect shows a checkbox confirming that your date of birth "cannot be changed once saved." If you enter it wrong, you'll have to contact support to correct it.
Step 4: Enter your legal name, past names and past addresses
Enter your full legal name. Then add past names, like a maiden name, and past addresses. Opt-out guide Delist My Data, which verified its PeopleConnect steps in September 2026, notes that records under a prior name can be separate entries that need their own suppressions.
The more details you add, the more likely PeopleConnect is to find all your records. Think about:
- A name you used before marriage
- Nicknames or middle names that might appear in records
- Addresses from the last 10 years, especially if you've moved
Old-name records can be separate listings, so if your record under an old name is a different entry, you'll suppress it separately after you finish the first one.
Step 5: Pick your record and verify
PeopleConnect shows records that match your details. Pick your record by matching your age and the cities you've lived in. Common names can have many matches, so check the age and location carefully.
Then verify you own the record. According to PeopleConnect's Terms of Use, "you are also required to verify at least one email address or phone number." The Suppression Center shows a masked phone number or email address from your record. Type it in full, request the verification code, and enter the code it sends.
If the number isn't yours anymore: Use an email address on the record instead, or use the help link to contact support.
Step 6: Set Desired Behavior to Suppressed and save
For each report that's yours, set Desired Behavior to Suppressed and save. Take a screenshot of the confirmation, then search your name again in a few days.
PeopleConnect doesn't publish an official turnaround. Opt-out guide Delist My Data says it's "commonly reported to take effect within about 48 hours, though PeopleConnect doesn't publish a turnaround." Then search your name on Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate and US Search to confirm the suppression worked.
Does the Intelius opt out also work for TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate and US Search?
Yes. All four sites run on PeopleConnect and share one Suppression Tool. One suppression hides your Background Report from name searches on all four.
According to PeopleConnect's official Suppression Center page, the tool covers "all people search sites in the PeopleConnect family including TruthFinder.com, InstantCheckmate.com, Intelius.com and USSearch.com."
The company behind them is PeopleConnect. Its company page lists Intelius, TruthFinder, US Search, Instant Checkmate and Classmates as its brands. Classmates is not covered by the Suppression Tool.
What is the PeopleConnect Suppression Center, and is it legit?
The PeopleConnect Suppression Center is PeopleConnect's official tool for suppressing your Background Report from name searches on its four people-search sites. It's at suppression.peopleconnect.us.
It's free. The official page says "No. PeopleConnect's Suppression Tool is free."
The Intelius Privacy Center calls it a tool Intelius "voluntarily provides users with." The Center explains that "Most state privacy laws do not apply to Public Data. However, Intelius voluntarily provides users with a free tool" to suppress their information.
It's not a legal obligation under most state privacy laws. It's something PeopleConnect offers on its own.
What information do I need to opt out?
You'll need:
- An email address you can open now. The verification link expires, so use an email you can check right away.
- Your date of birth. You can't change it later.
- Your full legal name.
- Past names, like a maiden name, if you've used them.
- Past addresses. Add every address from the last 10 years or so if PeopleConnect's records might have them.
- A phone number or email listed in your record. PeopleConnect verifies you by sending a code to a contact already on your Background Report.
The Intelius Privacy Center says "You will need to confirm your identity by providing your full name, date of birth, and a phone or email address that you can verify."
What doesn't the PeopleConnect suppression hide?
Suppression hides your Background Report from name searches. It doesn't hide everything. According to PeopleConnect's own Suppression Center page and Terms of Use:
- Phone, email or address reports. Your name may still appear "in phone, address or email reports that are accessible when someone searched by those criteria."
- You as a relative or associate in other people's reports. Your name may continue to appear "as a relative or associate in other individuals' reports." The Intelius Privacy Center has a separate form to "prevent your name from appearing as a possible relative or associate in other persons' reports."
- Classmates.com. The Suppression Tool "does not apply to other sites in the PeopleConnect family, including Classmates.com."
- Third-party sources. The tool "does not affect whether the information will be available from other sources, including the third-party sources" where PeopleConnect got the data.
- Every other people-search site. Whitepages, Spokeo, BeenVerified, Radaris and dozens more need their own opt-outs.
Suppression is not deletion. Your data is hidden from name searches, but it's still in PeopleConnect's systems.
Should I click Delete My User Data?
No, not if you want to keep your suppression.
The Intelius Privacy Center has a button labeled Delete My User Data. This is about your Intelius account data: your email address, search history and payment records. The Privacy Center says clearly: "Deleting your User Data will NOT prevent other users from searching for your Public Data through our services."
Opt-out guide Delist My Data, which verified its steps in September 2026, quotes PeopleConnect saying "If you choose to delete your user data, we must delete your any and all suppressions associated with your user."
So if you delete your user data, your suppressions go away too, and your Background Report can show up again in name searches.
How do I keep my information off Intelius?
Suppression covers the record you picked. A new record can appear when PeopleConnect receives new public records about you, for example after a move or a new phone number.
Opt-out guide Delist My Data recommends re-checking your name every few months and signing back into the Suppression Center with the same email to manage new records. "New data can surface as a new listing; quarterly re-check."
Here's a realistic routine:
- Today: Suppress every record that's yours.
- In 3 to 6 months: Search your name on Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate and US Search again.
- If you're back: Sign in to the Suppression Center with the same email and suppress the new record.
- After you move or change numbers: Re-check within a month and suppress any new listings.
Tracking removals and re-checking listings every few months is the part people tend to drop. That's the part a service like UndoLeak can save you time on. UndoLeak erases your data from data brokers and people-search sites and keeps it off, re-checking and erasing it again when it comes back. Our free scan shows you where you're exposed right now.
What about ZabaSearch and other affiliated domains?
We found no official confirmation that suppression covers ZabaSearch or other affiliated domains. PeopleConnect's official pages name only Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate and US Search. If you see your listing on another site, check that site separately and file its own opt-out.
Does opting out of Intelius remove me from other people-search sites?
No. People-search sites like Whitepages, Spokeo, BeenVerified, Radaris and dozens of others use the same public records, but they are separate companies with their own opt-out processes.
Suppression through PeopleConnect only covers its four brands: Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate and US Search.
Our main removal guide covers the 15 biggest people-search sites with opt-out links for each. Our TruePeopleSearch removal guide walks through another free opt-out that's separate from PeopleConnect.
California DROP: one request to 600+ brokers
If you or your family live in California, you have the strongest tool in the country.
DROP (at privacy.ca.gov/drop) sends one free deletion request to more than 600 registered data brokers. Since August 1, 2026, brokers must check DROP at least every 45 days and keep deleting you.
Our California DROP guide walks through how to file and what each status means.
How UndoLeak handles Intelius for you
UndoLeak finds your data on Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, US Search and dozens of other people-search sites, files the removal through each site's own process, and keeps re-checking for listings that come back.
Here's what happens:
- We find every listing. We search Intelius and its sister sites for every profile tied to your name, phone, email and past addresses, including duplicates and family listings the opt-out form won't show you.
- We file and confirm the suppression. We submit the suppression request, handle the verification steps, and check that the listing is actually gone.
- We watch for it coming back. People-search sites re-add records from public data. We recheck Intelius and file again whenever your listing returns.
- We cover the other sites. The same records show up on Whitepages, Spokeo, BeenVerified and many more. One scan covers them along with Intelius.
Check your data free to see where you're exposed right now. The first scan is free.
