How to remove yourself from Whitepages

  1. 1

    Search for yourself

Search your full name and city or state on whitepages.com and open the result that matches you.

  2. 2

    Copy both listing URLs

Whitepages shows a free listing and a Premium report. Copy the URL from "View Details" (free) and from "View Full Report" (Premium).

  3. 3

    Submit a suppression request

Go to whitepages.com/suppression-requests, paste a listing URL and choose a reason for the removal.

  4. 4

    Verify by phone

Enter a phone number you can answer. An automated call reads out a code that you type into the page to finish the request.

  5. 5

    Repeat and recheck

Submit the second listing the same way, then search again in a few days. If something is left, email privacyrequest@whitepages.com with the URLs.

What Whitepages shows about you

Whitepages is one of the oldest people-search sites. A listing can show your current and past addresses, landline and mobile numbers, age range and household members. The Premium report goes further, adding things like property records and background check data, and it's sold to anyone who searches your name.

Things that trip people up

Most failed removals come down to two things. First, people only submit the free listing and miss the Premium report. Second, the verification call goes to a number they can't answer. Use a phone you have with you, and keep the page open while the call comes in.

Why your listing comes back

Whitepages refreshes its data regularly, so a suppressed record can be re-added or replaced by a new profile after you move or change numbers. Check again every few months, or let a monitoring service do it. The same records usually show up on Spokeo and TruePeopleSearch too, so check those while you're at it.

Or let undoleak handle Whitepages for you

Finds every listing

We search Whitepages for every profile tied to your name, phone, email and past addresses, including duplicates and family listings the opt-out form won't show you.

Files and confirms the opt-out

We submit the removal, handle the verification steps, and check that the listing is actually gone.

Watches for it coming back

People-search sites re-add records from public data. We recheck Whitepages and file again whenever your listing returns.

Covers the copycat sites

The same records show up on other people-search sites. One scan covers them along with Whitepages.

Whitepages: frequently asked questions

Why does Whitepages need my phone number to remove me?

The phone call is how Whitepages confirms the request. You enter a number, an automated call gives you a code, and typing the code completes the suppression.

What's the difference between free and Premium listings?

They're separate records with separate URLs. Removing one doesn't remove the other, so submit a request for each.

Can I remove myself from Whitepages by email?

Yes. If you'd rather not give a phone number, email privacyrequest@whitepages.com with your listing URLs, or use Whitepages' customer service web form. Whitepages says form and email requests get a reply within two business days.

Will Whitepages add my information again?

It can. Whitepages keeps updating its records, and removed details can be re-added or show up in a new profile. Check back every few months.
