Short answer: Incogni is one of the best-value broker removal services: $95.88 for the first year, 420+ brokers, requests re-sent every 60–90 days. People usually switch for one of three reasons. Proof: go to Optery, which gives you screenshots and a free tier. Humans and custom requests without paying for Unlimited: go to DeleteMe, which includes custom requests and phone support at $129. Problems Incogni's Standard plan doesn't touch, like reposted photos, leak forums or Google results: try undoleak, starting with a free check.

Quick verdict

If your issue with Incogni is… Try Starts at
"I can't see what was actually removed" Optery Free · $39/yr
"I want a person and custom requests without Unlimited" DeleteMe $129/yr

Why people look for an Incogni alternative

  • First-year pricing. Standard shows $95.88/yr, discounted from $191.76; month-to-month is $15.98 (pricing). Check the renewal price before it hits.
  • No visible proof for much of the list. A large share of the 420+ are private brokers whose databases you can't search, so "completed" is the broker's confirmation, not something you can see. Even Incogni's own comparison page quotes Reddit users saying the dashboard marks removals completed "without screenshots or before/after proof" (Incogni).
  • Custom removals cost extra. On Standard you can't point Incogni at a site it missed; that needs Unlimited at $179.88/yr.
  • It's built for brokers. Reposted photos, leak forums and impersonation fall outside the Standard plan.
  • No independent removal-rate test like Consumer Reports'. Incogni has a Deloitte assurance report on coverage and process, and cites a 2025 academic study (76.6% after 30 days), but it wasn't in CR's 2024 test.

1. Optery: if you want to see the proof

Optery's Free Basic shows your exposure with screenshots, including a scan of your Google and Bing results, and gives you self-service removal tools. Paid plans: Core $39/yr (automated, one name and one city), Extended ~$149/yr (human Privacy Agent, before/after screenshots about every 90 days, unlimited name variations), Ultimate ~$249/yr (unlimited custom removals across 945+ sites after 30 days, plus an outdated-content tool for Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and Yahoo) (pricing). Ultimate removed 68% of tracked profiles at four months in Consumer Reports' 2024 test.

Trade-offs vs Incogni: costs more for equivalent breadth (Extended/Ultimate), and Core's limits are real. The headline counts assume "Expanded Reach" is on, which Optery says can send your basic details to brokers that didn't have them. Note: Gizmodo reports Surfshark (Incogni's parent) took a majority stake in Optery in September 2026; we haven't confirmed this.

2. DeleteMe: if you want people on your case

DeleteMe pairs automated scanning with human experts, includes custom removal requests on every plan, and offers email, chat and phone support. You get four Privacy Reports a year (help). Prices: $129 (1 person), $229 (2), $329 (4) per year; two-year terms $209/$349/$499 (pricing). Refunds are full before your first report and pro-rated after.

Trade-offs vs Incogni: more expensive, no monthly plan, US-residents-only main plans, a published Standard list of about 100 sites, and 27% in Consumer Reports' 2024 test (before its 2026 rebuild).

3. undoleak: if your problem isn't only brokers

undoleak starts with a free check of your name, email, phone or photo, across people-search sites, search results, image reposts (face and image match), breach dumps and leak forums. It files removals through each site's own opt-out or reporting route, tracks every request, and re-checks and re-files when a listing comes back. Breached passwords are flagged so you can change them. Cancel anytime from account settings.

Trade-offs vs Incogni: Incogni's 420+ automated broker list and Deloitte assurance are a real strength we don't match on paper. We say we cover 1,000+ sites but haven't published the list, have no independent test, and are newer. We also have no family plan and work only in the US, UK and EU. What we offer instead: coverage beyond brokers, a free look before paying, and a free guide for every site we cover. We don't claim to remove more.

4. Free: DIY + California DROP

Careful manual opt-outs removed 70% of profiles in Consumer Reports' test, the best result overall. Use our complete guide and the 30-day plan. Californians should file a free DROP request first. The cost is time, plus repeating your searches every few months. EasyOptOuts (65% in the same test, $19.99/yr in 2024 per Consumer Reports; current price not checked) is the cheapest paid option with a measured result.

When to stay with Incogni

Stay if you want broad, automated broker removal at a low price, live in Europe or Canada, or are covering up to five people. Incogni's re-send schedule and Deloitte assurance are genuine strengths. Just diarise the renewal date.
