Short answer: For most people leaving DeleteMe, Incogni is the closest swap at a lower price: $95.88 for the first year, 420+ brokers, monthly billing available. Optery is the pick if you want proof: a free exposure report with screenshots, and the best paid result in Consumer Reports' test (on its $249 Ultimate plan). Why people look for a DeleteMe alternative
DeleteMe is a legitimate, long-running service. People leave for specific reasons:
- No monthly plan. You pay $129 for one year or $209 for two, up front (pricing).
- Coverage smaller than the headline. DeleteMe's published Standard US list is about 100 domains (list, updated Aug 6 2026); bigger numbers include custom-request and business coverage.
- Independent results. In Consumer Reports' 2024 test DeleteMe removed 27% of tracked profiles at four months, versus 68% for Optery Ultimate and 70% for manual opt-outs (report, PDF). DeleteMe says it rebuilt its platform in 2026, so this may have changed.
- US-only main plans. The plans on its pricing page are for "U.S. residents only".
- Not built for non-broker problems like reposted photos or leak forums.

1. Incogni: the closest, cheaper swap
Best for: hands-off broker removal at the lowest price, families, people outside the US.
Incogni sends automated removal requests to 420+ data brokers on every plan and re-sends them every 60 days to public brokers and every 90 days to private ones (Incogni). Standard is $7.99/mo billed yearly ($95.88) or $15.98 month-to-month; Family covers up to five people for $191.88 a year (pricing). It works in the US, Canada, the UK, the EU and a few more countries (help).
- Better than DeleteMe on: price, automated breadth, monthly billing, family pricing, Europe.
- Worse than DeleteMe on: humans and custom requests (Unlimited only, $179.88), and visible proof for private brokers.
- Watch out for: the yearly price is shown as a discount from $191.76; check renewal at checkout.
2. Optery: best for proof, and the best free tier
Best for: seeing exactly what's out there before paying; screenshot proof of removals.
Optery's Free Basic gives you an exposure report with screenshots and a scan of your Google and Bing results; you remove things yourself with its tools. Core is $39/yr ($3.99/mo), fully automated, one name and one city. Extended ($149/yr) adds a human Privacy Agent and before/after screenshot reports about every 90 days. Ultimate ($249/yr) adds unlimited custom removals (pricing). Its Ultimate plan had the best paid result in Consumer Reports' 2024 test, 68% at four months.
- Better than DeleteMe on: proof, free tier, measured results (Ultimate), monthly billing.
- Worse than DeleteMe on: the 68% is the $249 plan, not Core; Core allows one name and one city; the headline site counts assume "Expanded Reach" is on, which, per Optery, can send your name, city and state to brokers that didn't have it.
- Note: Surfshark, Incogni's parent, reportedly took a majority stake in Optery in September 2026 (per Gizmodo; we haven't confirmed this with Optery).
3. undoleak: for more than brokers
Best for: reposted photos, leak forums, Telegram, impersonation and Google results, plus people-search sites; anyone who wants a free check first.
undoleak starts with a free check of your name, email, phone or photo. It looks across people-search sites, search results, image reposts (face and image match), breach dumps and leak forums. Then it files removals through each site's own route and tracks each request. When a listing comes back, it re-checks and files again. Breached passwords are flagged so you can change them. You can cancel anytime from your account settings.
- Better than DeleteMe on: coverage of photos, leaks and Google; a free look before paying.
- Worse than DeleteMe on: track record (we're new), no independent test, no published site list yet, no family plan, and only the US, UK and EU.
- What we don't claim: that we remove more. We save you time and keep checking.
4. The free route: DIY (+ California DROP)
Best for: a handful of listings and a few hours.
In Consumer Reports' test, careful manual opt-outs removed 70% of profiles, more than any paid service. Start with Spokeo, Whitepages, BeenVerified and TruePeopleSearch, then Google. In California, file one free DROP request to reach every registered broker. Our 30-day plan breaks it into 20–40 minutes a day. The catch: you have to repeat the checks every few months, because listings come back.
Also worth knowing: EasyOptOuts scored 65% in the same test at $19.99/yr (2024 price, per Consumer Reports; we haven't checked its current price).
When to stay with DeleteMe
Stay if you're in the US and want a team handling your case, phone support, custom requests on the base plan and quarterly reports. DeleteMe also has the most flexible refund here: a full refund before your first report, pro-rated after (help).
How to switch without losing ground
- Run a free check (undoleak or Optery Free) before cancelling, so you have a baseline.
- Download your last DeleteMe Privacy Report; it lists sites already handled.
- Cancel DeleteMe from your account, or by email or phone (terms). You get a pro-rated refund for unused time.
- Start the new service and give it 30–60 days before judging; removals are front-loaded but some brokers take weeks.
