Remove your leaked content from Telegram

To remove leaked content from Telegram, report each message in the app, then email abuse@telegram.org with the exact t.me post links for non-consensual images, or dmca@telegram.org for copyrighted content in public channels. Telegram doesn't handle copyright requests for private groups, so those need a member report or legal route.

How to remove leaked content from Telegram

  1. 1

    Collect exact post links

Copy the link to each post, not just the channel, and screenshot it with the channel name and date. Don't download or share the files.

  2. 2

Report every message in the app

Long-press the message on a phone or right-click it on desktop, choose Report, pick the closest reason and add a short note.

  3. 3

    Email Telegram's abuse team

For intimate images shared without consent, send the post links and a short explanation to abuse@telegram.org.

  4. 4

    Send a copyright notice

For content you own in public channels, bots or public groups, email dmca@telegram.org with every link, a description of your work and a signed statement that you're the owner.

  5. 5

    Track and recheck

Leak channels often come back under a new name. Keep a log of each link and report, and report new channels as soon as they appear.

Why Telegram is the hardest platform

Telegram is built around channels and groups that are easy to create and quick to replace. When a leak channel is banned, a copy often appears under a new name, and private groups sit outside Telegram's copyright process. It takes persistence: report every post, keep a log, and follow up on each new channel. Leak channels often repost content first shared on Reddit, so check there too.

If the content involves someone under 18

Never keep or share it, even as evidence. Report it to the police right away, and use NCMEC's Take It Down service at takeitdown.ncmec.org to help block the images from spreading.

Finds your photos by face match

Image and face matching finds fake profiles and reposts of you on Telegram, even under another name.

Files the right report

Impersonation, privacy and copyright reports each have their own rules. We file the one that fits, with the evidence Telegram asks for.

Follows up until it is gone

We track every report and keep checking for new accounts or reposts that use your photos.

Telegram: frequently asked questions

Can Telegram remove content from private groups?

Telegram says it doesn't process copyright requests for private groups and chats. A trusted member can report from inside, or you can go through the police or a regulator.

What's the difference between abuse@ and dmca@telegram.org?

Use abuse@telegram.org for illegal content such as non-consensual intimate images. Use dmca@telegram.org for copyright claims on content you own in public channels.

Someone is pretending to be me on Telegram. What do I do?

Report the account in the app as impersonation. Telegram also runs an official bot, @NoToScam, for reporting impersonation and scams.

Should I join the leak channel to collect evidence?

Only if needed, and never pay for access. Ask a trusted person to help so you don't have to look at the content yourself.
