What Data Brokers Know About You (and Where They Get It)
What's in a data broker file: contact details, relatives, purchases, inferred traits and location. Where it comes from, and how to cut it.
AAcxiom·Marketing data broker
Acxiom is a marketing data broker, not a people-search site. US residents can opt out for free at acxiom.com/optout. Acxiom has separate portals for France, Italy and Spain, an international rights form for other countries, and a phone line at (877) 774-2094 if you don't have an email address.

Official page: Acxiom US consumer opt-out ↗
Acxiom can show your marketing profile, home address, household data, purchase interests and demographics. Acxiom doesn't publish profiles you can look up. It sells marketing data about households, such as demographics and buying interests, to advertisers and other companies. You can't easily see your own file, but you can still opt out.
Opting out of a marketing broker won't change people-search sites, which are a separate problem. Start with the people-search sites in our removal guides.
Finds where your records show up
We check Acxiom and the people-search sites that repackage the same records about you.
Files the opt-out for you
We send the removal or opt-out request to Acxiom and handle the confirmation steps.
Rechecks after it refreshes
Record sites re-import data when public files update. We recheck and file again when your information returns.
Yes. Acxiom's opt-out is free. You never need to buy a report or a subscription to remove your information.
Acxiom doesn't publish a timeframe. Search again after a few days, and follow up if your information is still there after two weeks.
It can. Acxiom keeps adding records from public and commercial sources, so a new listing can appear after a move, a new phone number or a data refresh. Check again every few months.
Not right away. Google can show an old snippet until it recrawls the page. Once the Acxiom page is gone, you can ask Google to refresh the result. See our Google removal guide.
